First off, I'd like to say that I've romanized all the lyrics for Namie's new album "PLAY"! Enjoy!

Also, "PLAY" has ranked #1 again! This is a huge accomplishment for Namie, and brings her sales to about 340,000 copies sold! Congrats Namie!

For the first time since 2000, Namie's album has achieved the #1 spot on the Weekly Oricon Charts! The album has sold a total of 250,619, almost 50,000 more than "Queen of Hip-Pop" did on its first day on the charts! This is a huge achievement for Namie!  Congrats!

Per request from kazenoyukue's webmaster (kazenoyukue is the site where all the magazine scans come from) I, along with ~White Light~, will be removing their magazine scans from my website. This decision is based totally on the fact that kazenoyukue's webmaster is suffering difficulties because of the scanning the magazines. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but what must be done must be done. As of the end of today, all magazine scans will be removed from the site, and then permanently removed from my Photobucket account. If there are any scans that you feel you just have to have, please save them before their deletion.

I've finally managed to upload Namie's performance at "girls' FEVER 2007"! The performance was magnificent, and featured a new dance routine for "WANT ME, WANT ME". Overall, Namie sang a total of four songs: "FUNKY TOWN", "WANT ME, WANT ME", "Uh Uh,,,,,, feat. AI", and "Do What U Gotta Do feat. AI, Amuro Namie, and Mummy-D". AI actually appeared for "Uh Uh,,,,,,", and ZEEBRA and Mummy-D were there for "Do What U Gotta Do" as well.

News: Album Covers + Final Song!!!

Namie's Official Site has FINALLY updated with both the covers for her new album and the final track to the new album! First off, here are the covers for CD Only and CD+DVD respectively:



Secondly, the final track on "PLAY" has been officially decided as "Full Moon", and will be the second track on the album, bumping down all the other tracks by one. (For example, "CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK" is now track #3 and so on.)

And lastly, it's also been officially determined that "Violet Sauce" on the album is a remix of the original one, and will be titled "Violet Sauce (Spicy)".

Thanks to Sketchess, there's now a low quality TV rip of "Top Secret" for download! The song sounds just as HOT as "Hide & Seek", which means that this album will rock!

Namie's Official Website has updated, and with that update came news of a new tie-in! That's right, "Top Secret" from her upcoming album will be used as the theme song for the Japanese version of "Prison Break" Season 2! Sorry about not updating in a while, but great news has come to make up for it! Vision Factory, Namie's official management site, has updated with information on her new album! Here's the tracklist and album title:

Tracks 1, 8, 9, 10, and 11 were produced and written by Nao'ymt, while tracks 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 were produced and written by T.Kura and michico. Track number 6 was produced by T.Kura and written by ANGIE and michico. For some reason, though, the site neglects to mention the twelfth album song. Could this song be a secret track like "No pt. II" from her previous album? Only time will tell...

Also, the album will be tied in with the CG-animated cartoon "The World of GOLDEN EGGS."

News: New Namie Single Release!

Namie's Official Site has updated with new information about her upcoming album! The album will be released this year on June 27th, and will contain a total of 12 tracks! 4 of those tracks will single songs, two of them being "Baby Don't Cry" and "FUNKY TOWN", while the other two are still unknown. Also, according to CDJapan, there will be a CD only AND a CD+DVD version of this album. The lead song will be titled "Hide & Seek", there will be a rock song called "It's all about you", and "PINKY KEY" will be a 'sparkly' song. The DVD is set to include music videos of "Hide & Seek", "Hello", and her singles' music videos.

To start off, I have a new performance of "FUNKY TOWN" up for download! Like the others, this performance is very nice, with great choreography and vocals along with Namie smiling a lot! Plus, Namie is 'cute' at the end of the clip!

Today, Namie appeared on "MUSIC FIGHTER" and performed "FUNKY TOWN"! Overall, the performance was executed very well both vocally and in her choreography, though her vocals weren't done as well as in the "Sakigake!" performance. Also, Namie smiles a lot throughout the performance, which is always a plus.

For its first day on the charts, "FUNKY TOWN" debute at #2! Sadly, though, it's already fallen down to #3. And, according to Oricon, the single has sold 20,318 in its first two days.

The full version of "Luvotomy" has leaked onto the internet! The song is overall very good, though it may seem a bit strange to the listener, since one minute it's a slow/mid-tempo-like song, and the next minute it's a fast paced R&B song.

News: "FUNKY TOWN" Music Video and a POPJAM Performance!

The PV for Namie's new song "FUNKY TOWN" aired yesterday! The song is wonderful, energetic, and "refreshing" from what Namie has done in the past. The music video is also great, and definitely better than the recent music videos she's released.

The official title of the m-flo song that Namie is being featured in has been released! The song is titled "Luvotomy", and will be released on March 28th on m-flo's new album COSMICOLOR.

Also, on another note, "Baby Don't Cry" charted at #5 for it's Monthly Rankings on Oricon! This is the highest ranking Namie has achieved since "RESPECT the POWER OF LOVE"!

CDJapan has updated their site, and, just as Namie promised, she will be releasing her 32nd single "FUNKY TOWN" on April 4th, 2007! The song is produced by T.KURA, michico, & the L.L. Brothers, and is described as being a funky, dance tune. The song will also be used in "Lipton Limone" commercials with Namie herself appearing in the commercial!

News: Tour DVD Released + New Single Rumor!

Today marked the release of Namie's 2006 tour! For it's debut, the DVD ranked at #1 in both the DVD Charts and the Overall DVD Charts, which combines every kind of DVD from music to movies. Also, as it turns out, the 2006 tour had the highest number of people attending the concerts in all of Namie's music career. (This even includes her SWEET 19 BLUES years which were when she was at the height of her popularity.)

Now, for the new single rumor. Though not confirmed, it is expected that the new single will be released. (Though, it might as well be official, since Namie herself mentioned releasing a single this spring.) The real rumor is that the single is supposed to be used as the theme song for the new drama "Oniyome Nikki Ii Yu da na". The drama is supposed to be broadcasted starting April 10th, so if the rumor is true, then news should start coming up very soon.

According to m-flo's Official Website, Namie will appear on m-flo's new album "COSMICOLOR," starring as one of the many "m-flo loves artist". Other artists on the album include Koda Kumi, BONNIE PINK, MONKEY MAJIK, Chara, and many more!

As of now, the album has a scheduled release of March 28th, 2007, and the song Namie will appear on has not yet been revealed.

In a recent interview with MUSIC@DX, Namie revealed her plans for 2007. In the talk, she confirmed that she intends to release a new single this spring, a new album in the summer, and then go on a 50 concert tour! 2007 is looking like it'll be a promising year!!!

For its first week on the charts, "Baby Don't Cry" has charted at #3 with 52,168 copies sold! This is the highest first week sales a single by Namie has had since the hit "Say the word" back in 2001! On a different yet similar note, all Namie's singles during the last 13 years have entered the Top 10 since "Taiyou no SEASON," making her the only female artist to have achieved this!

In case you've been living under a rock, Namie's new single was released yesterday! As of now, the single has been at #3 on the charts for the past three days! Congrats to Namie!

Another newsworthy item is that Namie mentioned that she would like her next tour to be 50 concerts long! Does this mean she will perform outside of Japan? Only time will tell at this point.

As already mentioned, "Baby Don't Cry" will be used as the theme song for a drama. Now, just what is this drama called? "Himitsu no Hanazono", that's what! The drama is a comedy about a female editor who is transferred to a shojo manga department, where she's put in charge of a popular female manga artist who turns out to be the creative effort of four weird brothers! Commercials for the drama have already begun to air, and the song "Baby Don't Cry" is being sung in the commercials! Fans who've seen this commercial say that the song is more upbeat than previously thought!

According to a very reliable site, N@Style BBS, Namie will release a new single titled "Baby Don't Cry" on January 24, 2007, and the title track will be used as the theme song for a drama show. So far, though, this is just a rumor.

Also, Channel-a broadcasted a special report of Namie's concert in Okinawa. The report included what Namie did before the concert, and actual footage from the concert. Go here to download it!

Sorry for the lack of updates, but nothing has really been going on lately. Well, that is until now. Apparently, according to NATE, a rumor is going around that Namie will be returning to arena venues for a tour this summer. No other information is presented, and we will just have to wait a while until new information does arise.

Namie's Official Site has updated, and the single has been pushed back to November 16th. CDJapan also says that the 3rd song on the single will be titled "Nobody", and will be a "sequel" to "White Light". ("White Light" is described as a cute Christmas-like song.) Also, Namie will be releasing a PV collection on December 7th!! Here's the tracklist as of now:

In July of 2002 SAM and Namie were divorced and custody was given to SAM. Right after the two lived in the same apartment and raised their child together. However, 10 months after their divorce mantaining this method became quite difficult. According to the people involved, Amuro wanted to clarify who was raising Haruto.

Some say that SAM wanted to transfer custody because he has a new girlfriend, however his publicity office stated that they've heard nothing about a wedding. Amuro's office also commented, saying that since it was a private matter they didn't know about it.

According to Oricon, Namie's CD has sold 48,000 total CDs for her first week, and is at #2. This is the first time Namie has had two consecutive #2 hits in 5 years. The last time she accomplished this was in 2000 with "NEVER END" and "PLEASE SMILE AGAIN." This single is also her highest debut selling single since she released the "lovin' it" charity single with VERBAL.
